Mosquito Control & Dengue Spray in Karachi

Pest Tech has provided mosquito control and dengue spray in Karachi since 2005. We find and treat breeding water first, then apply a residual spray to indoor resting surfaces and fog outdoor areas to knock down adult mosquitoes — the combination that actually reduces dengue risk around your home, school or compound.

Signs you have a mosquito problem

Dengue in Karachi is spread by the Aedes mosquito, which bites during the day and breeds in small amounts of clean standing water. After the monsoon (roughly July to September) the risk climbs sharply as containers, tanks and roofs hold water for weeks.

  • Bites during daytime or early evening, especially around ankles and under desks
  • Mosquitoes resting in dark corners, behind curtains and under beds
  • Wriggling larvae in water tanks, flower pots, buckets, coolers or AC drip trays
  • Standing water on flat roofs, in blocked gutters or in construction pits nearby
  • Night-time humming and bites from Culex mosquitoes breeding in drains and nalas
  • Someone in the building or street recently diagnosed with dengue

Our mosquito treatment process

  1. 01

    Breeding-site survey (free inspection)

We walk the property with you — roof, tanks, drains, pots, AC drip points and plant saucers — and mark every place water collects.

  2. 02

    Plan

You get a plan for source removal, larviciding, indoor spray and outdoor fogging, with a schedule if you want repeat treatments through the season.

  3. 03

    Larviciding and drain treatment

Biological larvicide (Bti) or a label-approved larvicide goes into water that cannot be emptied — open tanks, ponds, fountains and drains — killing larvae before they become adults.

  4. 04

Indoor residual spray and outdoor fogging

A residual insecticide is applied to indoor walls and dark resting areas; gardens, lawns and compounds are fogged with ULV or thermal equipment to knock down adults.

  5. 05

    Aftercare and repeat visits

We leave a short checklist for your household or staff. During peak dengue season a monthly visit keeps new breeding under control.

Methods: larviciding, residual spray and fogging

Fogging alone looks impressive but only kills mosquitoes flying at that moment. Lasting control needs all three layers:

MethodWhat it targetsWhere
Source reductionFuture mosquitoesEmptying containers, clearing gutters, covering tanks
LarvicidingLarvae in water that cannot be emptiedTanks, ponds, fountains, drains
Indoor residual sprayAdults resting indoorsWalls, ceilings, behind furniture, under stairs
ULV or thermal foggingAdults outdoorsGardens, lawns, compounds, school grounds

Typical actives include Bti (a biological larvicide that is safe in water bodies when used as directed), a pyrethroid such as deltamethrin or cypermethrin for residual spraying, and approved fogging formulations. Every product is used per label, and fogging is timed for when fewer people and beneficial insects are outdoors.

The World Health Organization describes vector control — removing breeding sites and controlling mosquitoes — as the main way to prevent dengue transmission. Read the WHO dengue fact sheet for symptoms and warning signs.

Dengue season plan for Karachi homes and buildings

For a house or flat, most of the work is weekly household habit plus one or two professional treatments at the start of the season. For buildings, schools and housing societies, a monthly programme from July to November keeps shared areas under control.

Weekly household checklist

  1. Empty, scrub and refill flower vases, pet bowls and bird baths.
  2. Keep overhead and underground water tanks tightly covered, with mesh on overflow pipes.
  3. Clear roof gutters and flat roofs after every rain.
  4. Tip out AC drip trays, cooler water and bucket water.
  5. Store tyres and junk under cover or remove them.

Housing societies in DHA, Clifton and North Nazimabad often ask us to treat common areas, parks and drains on a schedule while residents handle their own homes. We can split the work that way.

Chemicals we use: active ingredients, uses and safety ratings for mosquito & dengue control

Pests covered

  • Aedes aegypti (dengue, chikungunya)
  • Culex (nuisance and filariasis)
  • Anopheles (malaria)
  • Drain and sand flies

Safety for children, pets and food areas

  • Children and pets stay indoors with windows closed during outdoor fogging and until the mist has settled; your technician confirms when it is safe to go out.
  • Indoor residual spray goes on walls and resting surfaces only — not on food, utensils, bedding or toys.
  • Larvicide for drinking-water tanks is used only where the product label allows it, at the label dose.
  • Cover fish ponds and aquariums, and move birds, before fogging.
  • Fogging of gardens is timed to reduce impact on bees and other beneficial insects.
