Bahria Town Karachi is a large planned community on the Superhighway, with villas, apartment towers, parks, lakes and commercial areas across its precincts, surrounded by undeveloped land. The pests follow that setting:

• Termites — land clearing disturbs soil colonies, and homes without pre-construction treatment can be attacked within a few years.
• Mosquitoes — landscaped parks, lakes, fountains and garden irrigation give mosquitoes steady breeding sites.
• Rodents — rats and bandicoots from surrounding land enter homes through utility gaps, drains and gardens.
• Snakes and scorpions — common around precinct edges, gardens and stored material, especially in the monsoon.
• German cockroaches — arrive with cartons and appliances in new homes and settle into fresh kitchens.
