What Pest Is This? Pest Identifier Quiz

Not sure what pest you are dealing with? Answer five quick questions — where you saw it, how big it is, when it is active, what damage or bites you noticed and whether you found droppings — and the quiz will suggest the most likely pest, with the treatment guide and service page that fit. It is a first guide, not a replacement for an inspection.

1. Where did you notice the problem?
2. How big is it?
3. When is it most active?
4. What damage or effects have you noticed?
5. Have you found droppings or other signs?

How the quiz works

Each answer adds points to the pests that match it. For example, "bites in a line on waking" points strongly to bed bugs (khatmal), "mud tubes on walls" to termites, and "droppings and gnawed packaging" to rodents. The pest with the most points is shown first, with the next most likely as an alternative.

The quiz covers the pests we treat most often in Karachi: cockroaches, bed bugs, termites, wood borers, rodents, ants, mosquitoes, flies, lizards and stored-grain insects. If the result does not match what you see, send a photo on WhatsApp — our technicians identify pests from photos every day.

Good to know

  • A clear photo is the fastest way to confirm a pest — send one on WhatsApp
  • Some signs overlap: wood borer powder and termite damage are often confused
  • Bites can come from bed bugs, mosquitoes or fleas — timing and pattern help tell them apart
  • Seeing one pest does not tell you how large the infestation is; an inspection does

Frequently asked questions

Bed bug bites often appear in lines or clusters and are noticed on waking; you may also find small rust-coloured spots on sheets. Mosquito bites are scattered and happen at any time, often on exposed skin.

Termites leave mud tubes, soil in cracks and hollow-sounding wood. Wood borers leave small round holes with fine powder beneath them.

Rat droppings are dark pellets roughly the size of a grain of rice or larger. Cockroach droppings are tiny black specks, like ground pepper.

No. Once you know the pest, use the pest control cost calculator for an estimate, or ask us on WhatsApp.

Some signs — damp patches, dust, rashes — have other causes. If you are unsure, a free inspection settles it.
