Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti)
Biological LarvicideActive Ingredient: Bti Biological Larvicide
A naturally occurring soil bacterium that produces protein crystals toxic specifically to mosquito larvae and black flies — with no effect on other organisms. Bti is the WHO's recommended larvicide for dengue control programs, including in Pakistan. It can be safely applied to water used for drinking, irrigation, and swimming without harm to humans, fish, or beneficial insects.

Safety: WHO Class: U. Completely safe for humans, animals, fish, and beneficial insects.
Deltamethrin 2.5% EC
Residual Indoor SprayActive Ingredient: Deltamethrin 2.5%
A WHO-recommended synthetic pyrethroid for indoor residual spraying (IRS) against adult mosquitoes. Applied to walls, ceilings, and dark resting surfaces where female Aedes and Culex mosquitoes rest. Provides up to 3 months of residual knockdown activity. A core component of Pakistan's national dengue vector control program.
Used For
Indoor walls and ceilings, curtains, dark room corners — kills resting adult mosquitoes
Safety: WHO Class II. Applied to surfaces only. Safe once dry (30–60 minutes). Children to vacate during application.
Malathion ULV (Ultra-Low Volume)
ULV Cold FoggingActive Ingredient: Malathion 96%
Malathion is the most widely used organophosphate insecticide for adult mosquito control programs worldwide. Applied via ULV cold fogging machines, it creates ultra-fine droplets (8–15 microns) that remain airborne for several minutes, killing adult mosquitoes in outdoor areas on contact. Used during dengue outbreak response and preventive seasonal fogging.

Garden fogging, outdoor compound treatment, alley fogging, dengue outbreak response
Safety: WHO Class III. Residents and pets to stay indoors during fogging. Safe to return after 1 hour.
