Lizard Control in Karachi (Chipkali ka Ilaj)

Pest Tech has provided lizard control in Karachi since 2005 by removing the reasons chipkali come indoors: the insects they feed on, the gaps they enter through and the lights that attract their prey. We treat the insect population, seal entry points and advise on lighting — a lasting fix rather than chasing lizards around the house.

Signs you have a lizard problem

The common house lizard (gecko, chipkali) is not a pest in the way cockroaches are — it eats insects. When you see many lizards indoors, it usually means there are plenty of insects for them, and easy ways in.

  • Several lizards on walls near lights, especially after sunset
  • Small black-and-white droppings on window sills, shelves and floors
  • Lizards inside kitchen cabinets, behind curtains or frames
  • Tiny round eggs in wall cracks, behind frames or in cupboards
  • Moths, flies and small insects gathering around outdoor and balcony lights
  • Gaps around AC pipes, window frames and door bottoms

Our lizard treatment process

  1. 01

    Free inspection

We find where lizards enter and hide, and — more importantly — what they are eating: which insects, around which lights and drains.

  2. 02

    Plan

The plan covers insect treatment, the gaps to seal and simple changes to lighting and storage.

  3. 03

    Insect treatment

Crack-and-crevice and perimeter treatment reduces the cockroaches, moths, flies and crickets that feed lizards.

  4. 04

    Proofing

Gaps around AC lines, window frames, door bottoms and vents are sealed with sealant, mesh or brush strips; eggs found in cracks are removed.

  5. 05

    Aftercare

We advise on switching outdoor lights to warmer, less insect-attracting bulbs and keeping them away from doors and windows.

What actually keeps lizards out

There is no safe, legal poison that clears lizards from a family home without risk to children and pets, and poisoned lizards can die inside walls. The lasting approach is to make the home uninteresting and hard to enter:

StepWhy it works
Reduce insects indoorsNo food, fewer lizards
Move or change outdoor lightsInsects gather at lights; lizards follow
Seal gaps and fit meshLizards cannot get in
Declutter stores and behind furnitureFewer hiding places and egg sites
Remove eggs from cracksFewer young lizards next season

Insect treatment uses residual pyrethroids and gel baits applied per label into cracks and perimeters — not sprayed on lizards.

Chipkali myths

  • Eggshells, peacock feathers or naphthalene balls: there is no reliable evidence they repel lizards; naphthalene is also harmful to people in closed rooms.
  • Lizards are poisonous: the common house gecko is not venomous. Its droppings can carry bacteria, so clean them with a disinfectant and wash hands.
  • Spraying lizards directly: stresses them, rarely kills them, and puts insecticide where it is not needed.

Lizards are most active in Karachi’s warm months and around the monsoon, when insect numbers rise. Pairing lizard control with a home fumigation before summer gives the best result.

Pests covered

  • House lizard / gecko (chipkali)
  • Insects that attract lizards: moths, flies, cockroaches, crickets

Safety for children, pets and food areas

  • No poisons are used on lizards; treatment targets the insects that feed them.
  • Crack and perimeter treatments stay off food, counters, bedding and toys.
  • Children and pets stay out of treated rooms until dry; your technician confirms the time.
  • Lizard droppings are cleaned with a disinfectant, with gloves.

Lizard Control: frequently asked questions

We do not poison lizards in homes — it is not safe around children and pets, and lizards can die inside walls. We remove their food and seal their entry points instead.

No reliable evidence supports it. Reducing insects, sealing gaps and moving lights works far better.

The common house gecko is not venomous. Its droppings can carry bacteria, so clean them with a disinfectant.

Wear gloves, remove eggs from cracks and behind frames, dispose of them outside and disinfect the area. We remove the ones we find during treatment.

Once the insect population drops and gaps are sealed, most homes see fewer lizards within a few weeks.
